Protagonist and Antagonist
Protagonist:
The protagonist, who is me(Connor), is more clean, and professional as a character. He first started to learn how to fight from karate. He started karate at 5 years old learning the basics and learning respect/discipline. Over the years he progressed in karate becoming a very serious and classy person in the outside world. At age 16 he switched to boxing where he succeeded the most, he continued boxing for a while until he made it a career. He became one of the youngest boxers to achieve what boxers dream to do. He still wasn't the best, still pretty far from it actually. As time went on he was trying for the title against the best boxer in the world.
Antagonist:
The antagonist, my partner Jordan is more of a less classy and more of a intimidating character. Born in Europe but not from anywhere nice, he was in the ghetto parts from Russia. The antagonist was always surrounded by drugs and violent crimes. When he was a teenager he move to the states where he would try and find a less hostile and peaceful environment. He ended up in to similar conditions and would live in those conditions for the rest of his life. That life style chose him and he wont run away from it again. The good thing about the United States is that it brought a lot of opportunity. So the kid from the ghettos of Russia became the best boxer in the world and became very rich but never decided to leave his origins.

Media Studies Portfolio
Genre:Adventure
- The adventure genre has barley any violence, as plot develops the character travels around going to different places, and also overcoming obstacles that are in the characters way. If there is any violence most of the time its not graphic because for the younger audience which is the target audience.
- Usually in Adventure films they use a male protagonist. Film directors usually make the protagonist imperfect and shows the characters flaws, this moves the movie/story forward giving the character obstacles to come over. Also films choose exotic locations to do their adventurous film. Most films are in the woods the jungle or even the desert. Also locations can be in the ocean too. Not only locations are exotic but in adventurous films the date can be very different, 200 years in the future or thousands of years in the past. Its time/dates we don't know so it brings that unknown filling and makes the story more adventurous.
- Valerian is adventure/science fiction film. It had commercials and ads everywhere! One of there techniques or ways to get more people to watch there movie was advertise it on Youtube. Most of Youtube's users are young adults or children. On almost every single video that had ads, the ad would be Valerian. Valerian were going for there target audience where most of their views thrive, which is social networks and Youtube is the perfect way to get your movie out there to the youth or young adults.
- Avatar embodies my genre because its a movie that takes place on a different planet called Pandora and the protagonist is a human called Jake sully and he goes out to adventure in this new unknown world with his very own avatar that looks like one of the aliens. When adventuring Jake gets lost in this jungle environment filled with natural lights. For there on he learns the planet and the people and becomes one of them. As becoming one of them there are obstacles Jake has to overcome such as trying to get the aliens and humans to have peace. He has a hard to picking sides and this is where he has to decide whats right. This alludes to European settlers discovering the Americas and knocking the the natives off their land.
- Pirates of the Caribbean also embodies my genre because, the protagonist "Captain Jack Sparrow" is a pirate who goes on adventures to go find mostly treasure or what other pirates are looking for. Sparrow usual runs into legal trouble or other pirates. For example in of the movies black beard was the Antagonist. Pirates are his main obstacles to overcome and his way to overcome those obstacles is fighting with his sword.

Im 17 years old, I played soccer since i was 8 and im still playing today. Im planning to continue and maybe even play for college. The reason for this blog is to talk about genre and to give you more information and details about certain genres or sub genres and how they are used in movies. Also this blog is to talk about movies and their genres and how they are marketed. I created a post on the genre adventure and all the details about it in the media world. I also gave examples of movies and how they are categorized in the genre adventure. Also the reason I chose this genre is because I love adventures. If I were to ever create a film or show, the genre would be adventure. One of my favorite shows has the adventure genre. Its called Avatar the last Air Bender. Im obsessed with exploring and having new experiences so thats why I picked this genre.
